One of my friends is looking to buy a new truck. As such, I have taken to recommending every vehicle I see that I am sure he doesn't want. Recently, we saw an Eagle Summit Wagon. As much as I wanted to tell him to buy one instead of a truck, I couldn't because I had no idea what the heck we were looking at.
Turns out, what we were looking at was a badge engineered Mitsubishi RVR/Colt Vista Wagon. It looks like someone thought, "Hey, let's take a minivan and get rid of all the room inside. People would love this!" They gave it AWD though, and apparently a small, light, mostly reliable, (now) super cheap hatchback with AWD is something that people in the North really have a thing for.
The more I scrolled through Google results...er...conducted my research, the more I found out that people who own this car really love it. Maybe the super-micro minivan wasn't the worst segment to badge engineer into creation.

Can we just submit the whole Eagle brand as something time forgot?

You know a super-micro minivan with AWD would be awesome no matter how terrible the rest of the vehicle was.

I did, I did. But I can't think of it without thinking it's just a Mitsubishi Eclipse

But it's not a Mitsubishi Eclipse. It's a Mitsubishi Eclipse WITH A DIFFERENT BADGE.

I own one. Mine is turquoise-blue and I have never... I repeat, NEVER... loved a car like I love my little Summit "Bertha". I have owned everything from a 1964 Chevy Belair with a .327 engine to a 1976 Chevy Nova with a "three on the tree" standard shift to a Dodge Omni 024 to a Gremlin (yup.I owned. A Gremlin) and this car has my heart.
She's a 1995 and she clocked in at 30 mpg on my last longer road trip (her usual city mileage- in LA traffic- is 22 mpg). I get to sit up high while taking compact parking spaces. I seat four adults with INCREDIBLE head and leg room. I laid the back seat
down and put a .50cc scooter IN THE CRATE in back and drove it home. I can pull out the backseat and take every clothing article my wife and I own, all of my kitchen supplies, a couple computers, a cat crate and a large television in there and then I can strap the seat and two bicycles on the roof and drive across country. I know because... yeah... I did that.
In short, she rocks. Hard. Great car. Just a great car.

Oh... and I LOVE having people say "what the HELL is that?"
They used my car on "Modern Family" and Julie Bowen did that right in front of me. It was hysterical.
